The Dairy at Daviot are luxury self catering accommodation cottages with restaurant and ice cream shop. Previously heating with electric storage heaters.
Reason For switching to Biomass
To reduce carbon footprint and save money, estimated £25,000 annual electricity bill. Quicker heating and hot water times required for restaurant kitchens and cottages.
Installed in 2015 a Biomass district heating scheme. A fully automatic 150kW biomass boiler now provides heating and hot water for all properties linked from one central boiler with independent control in each cottage.
Boiler, buffer and fuel store Located in a prefabricated cabin delivered to site complete and connected to the building with highly insulated underground pipe. R&I Cruden installed the Biomass boiler and new heating systems in each cottage.
Fuel cost saving up to 75%, RHI payments for 20 years
CO2 reduced, Green luxury accommodation.
