Installation of Air Source Heat Pump
Reason for Opting for Air Source Heat Pump
The client was eager to find a more efficient heating system to replace a solid fuel stove system in their property. With incentivised schemes and interest free loans available for renewable installations, the client was interested to explore renewable heating options.
The Solution
R&I Cruden provide a full design and build service for mechanical projects including heating, plumbing, ventilation and, most importantly, have extensive experience of renewables. R&I Cruden supplied and installed a 5kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump with 210 litre pre-plumbed hot water cylinder and associated equipment including all pipework and fittings.
The Result
The client was able to take advantage of the Home Energy Scotland interest free loan to subsidise the installation costs of the new air source heat pump system. Furthermore the client was eligible to apply for the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI), which provides the client with quarterly repayments for their investment in renewable heating, over a seven year period. These paybacks pay for the cost of the installation and with the interest free loan no upfront capital was required, the heating system is paid back at an affordable monthly cost.

R&I Cruden have been so helpful from our initial enquiry to helping point us in the right direction for funding with the Energy Saving trust loan and RHI application. The whole process has been very easy and hassle-free. The engineers who carried out the project were fantastic, extremely professional and very neat and tidy. The aftercare service and attention to detail is something to be admired. I would definitely recommend R&I Cruden and have been telling all my neighbours about the difference to our house.
