Grange Estate – Strupie Beag, at Aigas Field Centre
Installation of Sunamp Heat Battery and Solar PV with Electric Battery Storage
Reason for Opting for Heat Battery
Grange Estate and Aigas Field Centre are committed to being as as green as possible, therefore wishing to instil this in the design and construction of a new Field Centre staff accommodation building.Electricity supply was also limited, therefore they opted to generate their own electricity, store it and store excess generation into a heat battery system.
The Solution
R&I Cruden supplied and installed a 6kw Solar PV array, connected to LG 10kW/h electric storage battery which supplies the Sunamp heat batteries with 6kW for domestic hot water and 12kW for heating system.
The Result
- Cost effective – long term savings in energy bills
- Green solution – in keeping with company ethos
- Low maintenance required for the system

“We are delighted to be working with R&I Cruden on this state of the art technology. Our new staff accommodation house is a demonstration of the latest battery technology and proof that photovoltaics can be very effective in the Highlands when linked to Sunamp batteries. For us it’s a no brainer! No oil-fired boiler, no heat pump, no hot water cylinder, no immersion heaters and, most importantly, no electricity bills!”
