Highland Farm Holiday cottages are luxury 5 star self catering accommodation.
Reason For Solar PV
The client estimated their annual electricity bill to be £25,000, therefore wished to save costs and reduce their carbon footprint. The client was also working towards achieving Gold status as part of Visit Scotland Tourism Award Scheme.
R&I Cruden installed a 4kw solar PV system at 11 cottages on site, each system made up of 16 panels. All the Solar panels were installed together on a south facing grass bank so the authentic look of the cottage roofs was preserved. As a result, 176 solar panels now lie on the bank providing electricity to each holiday cottage. All of the inverters and switch gear were housed in the laundry room, so the excess heat from the inverters is reused with drying.

I chose R&I Cruden as I used them to install a large Biomass system in 2014. The project was carried out to an excellent standard and the service and planning was outstanding. The project was bespoke as all the panels were on the grass bank but the strategy R&I Cruden produced was un-rivalled.
We have closely monitored a solar PV system we installed last year with battery storage and on average after a year the house has run on PV and battery over 70% of the time. #solar #solarenergy #batterystorage #selfsufficient #saveenergy #savemoney #reduceelectricitycosts
