Eagle Brae

Ri Cruden’s first-ever large scale client, we installed a Ground Source Heat Pump at the luxury holiday estate, allowing the cabins to run entirely on natural resources, enhancing sustainability!

The Kings Club

From beginning to completion of the project, Ri Cruden were responsible for the supply and installation of all plumbing and mechanical requirements. Given the scale and purpose of the building, the construction required a full plumbing and mechanical installation from hot and cold water system to sanitary ware and drainage.

River Ness Hotel

Previously the home of the Department of Work and Pensions in Inverness, Ri Cruden were responsible for all plumbing and mechanical requirements within the development of the tired four story office block to a 76-bedroom hotel, including supply and installation of all pipework and ventilation systems.

UHI Life Sciences and Innovation Centre

The £9.5m Life Sciences Innovation Centre on the Inverness Campus, a collaboration between Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the University of the Highlands and Islands, features a high-temperature Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) for heating and hot water. The building’s systems, installed by RI Cruden, also include four Air Handling Units, multi-split air conditioning, specialist laboratory equipment, and a new Building Management Control (BMS) system to improve energy efficiency.

Pittyvaich Care Home

Helping to address the increasing demand for care home provision in the Highlands, working alongside Capstone Construction, we were appointed to deliver a comprehensive MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) solution for the state-of-the-art care home facility.

STEM Starts Centre

Based in Elgin Library at the heart of the city, the new STEM Starts Centre is the first in a planned series of early‑years learning hubs. Ri Cruden was proud to deliver the mechanical works for this flagship project on behalf of main contractor Robertson Construction Northern for Moray Council.

Uig Ferry Terminal

As part of the wider redevelopment of Uig Harbour, on behalf of Robertson Construction Northern, RI Cruden Ltd was proud to deliver a comprehensive mechanical system package, supporting the successful completion of this key infrastructure project to the local community and beyond.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club

Commissioned as sole M&E contractor in 2024, Ri Cruden were delighted to deliver a range of comprehensive, innovative engineering solutions for the new Royal Dornoch Golf Club clubhouse, marking a landmark project for the region and the sport.

Clyde Bridge

As the first opening road bridge across the River Clyde, the structure features a twin-leaf swing design, accommodating both maritime traffic and dual- lane road access. Ri Cruden were commissioned by Fairfield Controls to deliver a variety of complex power and control installations

Blackhillock Substation

In partnership with RJ McLeod, we delivered critical mechanical and electrical installations to enhance the National Grid’s renewable capacity. By supporting the conversion of 220kV wind farm supply into 400kV of exportable power, we are proud to have helped improve grid stability and connectivity at the new substation, reinforcing our commitment to Scotland’s green energy future

Peebles Water Treatment Works

Following a successful tender process, Ri Cruden were commissioned by Ross Shire Engineering to provide a Solar PV system on the roof of the new building, installing 288 Trina Solar Panels.

Ness Walk Hotel

Situated in Inverness city centre over the banks of the River Ness, New Walk is a 19th century Grade B listed building which combines a number of retained period features with elements of modern design. Ri Cruden were tasked with designing and installing a Solar PV system across 3 separate roofs to generate renewable energy to aid in offsetting the hotels carbon footprint.

Lovat Shinty Club Community Pavilion

For their new community pavilion, Lovat Shinty Club needed a way to get low-cost heating and hot water without being vulnerable to rising energy bills. Ri Cruden, solved this problem by installing two air source heat pumps, and a Solar PV system, providing the club with an energy-efficient solution.

Ross-Shire Engineering Machine Shop

RSE had been operating with a 10-year-old solar PV system that increasingly exhibited performance issues. Despite initial energy savings, the aging system struggled with efficiency, which led to higher operational costs and frequent maintenance, with Ri Cruden installing a comprehensive Solar PV system to support sustainability and cost management.

High Range Lodge

High Range Lodge in Aviemore, located in the scenic Cairngorm National Park, faced rising electricity costs. To help with bringing down operational expenses, Ri Cruden installed a 90-panel, 36.9kWp solar PV system on the lodge’s roof.

Andrew Voisey

Andrew turned to RI Cruden in 2023 to help upgrade his home with renewable energy solutions. The project aimed to reduce energy costs, improve efficiency and lower the household’s carbon footprint, with the installation of a solar PV, battery storage and air source heat pump system.

Mark Drain

Looking for a way to reduce energy costs and transition to sustainable energy solutions, in the summer of 2022, Ri Cruden installed a comprehensive renewable energy system to meet Mark’s needs. Consisting of solar panels, battery storage, an air source heat pump and an EV charger, the new system ensures the home is future proofed with renewable technology, offering sustainable energy savings for years to come.

Oliver Pirie

In search of a way to reduce energy costs and enjoy consistent, year‑round heating, RI Cruden were delighted to work with Oliver Pirie to replace his ageing 20 year old oil boiler. Following a smooth and professional installation of an ASHP and Cylinder, alongside upgraded pipework and radiators to help maximise efficiency, Oliver now benefits from a more sustainable, cost‑efficient home with reliable, consistent heat throughout.

Jo Wilson

In 2024, Jo Wilson chose RI Cruden to install solar PV and battery storage, cutting his bills and boosting his family’s energy independence. Impressed by the savings and reliability, he returned in 2026 to add an EV charger, completing his move toward a greener, smarter, low‑cost home.

Moray Waste Busters

In preparation for their transition to an upgraded facility in Forres, Ri Cruden was appointed by social enterprise Moray Waste Busters to design and install a large-scale solar PV system. Delivering an innovative solar energy solution, with almost 500 panels, we are delighted to support the organisation to significantly reduce its operational overheads and achieve long-term energy independence.
